i just signed up to receive “italian journeys,” by william dean howell, delivered via rss feed. dailylit delivers books in the public domain (or under creative commons license) to you in chunks, via email or rss feed. what a fun idea! my first installment will be fed to me later tonight.
over at the cognitive daily blog they’re trying to come up with a way for bloggers to distinguish their “scholarly” posts from the normal mix of blog posts (pictures, personal comments, what’s going on at work, etc.). their aim is to come up with an icon and guidelines about what a post that uses that icon should contain. they’re asking for our thoughts on this, so if you have ideas about how to ‘standardize’ ways to report on peer-reviewed research via a blog, go on over to their site and leave a comment.
