join the discussion on blogging about scholarship

over at the cognitive daily blog they’re trying to come up with a way for bloggers to distinguish their “scholarly” posts from the normal mix of blog posts (pictures, personal comments, what’s going on at work, etc.).  their aim is to come up with an icon and guidelines about what a post that uses that icon should contain.  they’re asking for our thoughts on this, so if you have ideas about how to ‘standardize’ ways to report on peer-reviewed research via a blog, go on over to their site and leave a comment.

organizing the mail

my boss has been away from the office for a few weeks and has amassed a pile of mail.  i thought it would be nice for her if she returned and found it organized, making it quicker for her to sort through.  so i made three piles: a pile of adverts; a pile of routed journals; and a pile of must-see-first items, like invoices and personal notes.  i was so pleased with myself as i finished the job, and then it dawned on me that i had JUST ORGANIZED THE MAIL.
